The privacy function of this door knob allows the latch bolt to be locked using the thumb turn button on the inside knob. In the event of an emergency, an external release tool can be used to unlock the door from the outside. This feature is ideal for bathroom or bedroom doors where privacy is a priority, but a keyed cylinder is not necessary. It is important to note that this privacy knob is designed for privacy, not security.
The door knob is designed to be easily adjustable to fit all standard door preparations, making installation a simple one-person project. The interior screws are exposed, and the package includes a round corner strike.
